How to Request Deletion of Your Data
Arklabs Media builds and operates marketing technology for our clients. When you send a message to a business page on Facebook or Instagram that we help manage, or click a link that a business sends you in a message, our systems store information so the business can reply to you and understand which of its campaigns are working.
This page explains what we hold and how to have it deleted.
What we may hold about you
- Your Facebook or Instagram display name and profile picture
- The page-scoped identifier the platform assigns to you for that specific business page — not your Facebook account, and not usable to identify you anywhere else
- The messages exchanged between you and the business, including images or files sent in the conversation
- Whether you clicked a tracked link the business sent you, and which pages of the business's website you visited afterwards
- Notes the business's team added to your conversation
We do not receive your Facebook or Instagram password, your friend list, or anything from your profile beyond your public display name and picture. We do not use Facebook Login, so you have never created an account with us through Facebook.
How to request deletion
Email privacy@arklabsmedia.com with the subject line "Data deletion request" and include:
- The Facebook or Instagram handle you used (for example @yourhandle)
- The business page you messaged
- Roughly when you contacted them
We need the handle and the page because the identifier that connects you to a conversation is specific to that page. Without both, we cannot reliably find your data — and we would rather ask than delete the wrong person's conversation.
You may also remove our app from your Facebook settings (Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites) and choose Send Request, which notifies us automatically.
What happens next
- We confirm receipt within 5 business days and give you a reference code.
- We locate the data associated with the handle and page you gave us.
- We delete it and confirm when it is done, normally within 30 days and always within the period the applicable law requires.
If we cannot find any data matching your request, we will tell you that plainly.
What is deleted
Your conversation and everything attached to it: the messages, images and files, the team's notes, your display name and profile picture, and the record linking you to any tracked links you clicked. Deletion is permanent and is not recoverable from backups after our standard backup rotation.
What we keep, and why
If you bought something, we keep the record of that purchase — order number, amount, date and the details you provided at checkout. Tax and accounting law requires us to retain transaction records for seven years, and this is information you gave the business directly rather than information we received from Facebook or Instagram. These records are separated from your social profile data, so they no longer identify you as the person behind a conversation.
We also keep aggregate statistics that cannot identify you, such as the total number of people who clicked a campaign link.
Your broader rights
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights — access, correction, portability, restriction, or objection — under the GDPR, the CCPA or similar laws. These are described in our Privacy Policy and can be exercised at the same address.
